What's the real danger of Limbo? I mean, real time (outside of the dream) continues as normal. I absolutely love the film ,but I noticed one thing. If so, does this mean the entire movie is a dream? That beach that the movie starts on seems like part of Limbo. :PĮxample: In the movie inception, does it begin with Cobb on Limbo Beach? I'd hate togo into a coma for 10 years and have the entire experience be one of me being forced to eat my sister's meatloaf special dish. So, to answer your question, it seems that lucid dreams come from 'pure sleep' that we bring on by ourselves. Some have more of this chemical than others. I've also read somewhere that there is a chemical in the base of your brain (neo cortex?) which erases memories of dreams when you wake up. I'm thinking that dreams are created during REM sleep, which apparently is non existant when they knock you out. Although such questions beg certain philosophical questions (and I'm really not interested in getting into that), we believe that dreaming is not possible in such states." Likewise, when surgical anesthesia is accomplished, with halothane-type inhaled anesthesia barbiturates/benzodiazepines or propofol the EEG record would show profound changes indicating that the cerebrum is not functioning. "Coma" as I would use the term precludes dreaming. Vague emotional states, including night terrors, seem to occur in stage 4 sleep but they are not formed dreams. "Dreaming is something that we know happens in REM sleep, which is defined by its typical EEG phenomenology. By that I mean that they recall the face mask on their face and waking up in post operating room not recalling any dreams of any sort. When in an induced coma or otherwise people have reported 'lost time'.
